These Terms govern the use of Chess Online ("the service"). By using the site, you agree to everything stated here. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

Chess Online is a free online chess game available at xadrezonline.app, with an interactive tutorial, a 4-level AI and a public leaderboard for registered users.

The service is operated by Thiago Nascimento — contact: alternativasderenda@gmail.com.

2. Who can use it

Anyone can play without signing up. To take part in the leaderboard, you need to sign in with a Google account, which requires you to be 13 or older (Google's own rule). Minors should use the service under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

3. Account and security

You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure
Do not share your account with third parties
Notify us immediately if you notice any misuse
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms

4. User conduct

By using the service, you agree NOT to:

Use bots, scripts, chess engines or any automated tool to register scores on the leaderboard
Manipulate the game via the browser console, code modification or any technique that alters the real result of a game
Create multiple accounts to inflate scores
Use a display name that is offensive, obscene, hateful or that violates the rights of others
Attempt to access the data or accounts of other users
Overload the infrastructure (DDoS, abusive scraping, etc.)
Reverse-engineer the service for malicious purposes

⚠️ About the leaderboard: we reserve the right to remove suspicious scores, ban accounts that appear to be cheating, and reset leaderboards whenever we detect large-scale manipulation. Decisions about cheating are final.

5. Intellectual property

The source code, design, educational tutorial content and the "Chess Online" brand are protected by copyright. You may play and share links to the service, but you may not:

Copy, modify or redistribute the code without written permission
Create a derivative service using our brand or visual identity
Use our materials for commercial purposes without permission

Chess itself is in the public domain — our rules follow FIDE standards.

6. User-generated content

By registering a score, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display your display name and statistics on the public leaderboard for as long as your account exists. You can revoke this license by requesting deletion of your account.

7. Ads and partners

The service is free and supported by ads (Monetag) and affiliate partnerships. Clicks on ads or affiliate links may earn us a commission. We are not responsible for the content, products or policies of advertisers/partners.

8. Availability

We work to keep the service available 24/7, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may experience interruptions for maintenance, updates or technical issues. We are not liable for losses resulting from unavailability.

9. Changes to the service

At any time, and without prior notice, we may:

Add, modify or remove features
Change leaderboard rules
Discontinue the service (with reasonable prior notice when possible)

10. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

Loss of data or leaderboard scores
Indirect, incidental or consequential damages
The content of third-party ads
Decisions made based on information from the site

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Chess Online harmless from any claims, costs or damages arising from your use of the service in violation of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Significant changes will be announced on the site itself. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, where the service operator is based. Any disputes will be settled in the courts of the operator's jurisdiction.
